The Soursop Tree, also known as Guanabana in Caribbean countries,  is a stunning tropical fruit tree celebrated for its large, spiny green fruit and sweet-tart, custard-like flesh with notes of pineapple and strawberry. Native to the Caribbean and Central America, it grows quickly into a lush, spreading canopy adorned with glossy, dark-green leaves and unusual yellow-green flowers. Soursop can be enjoyed fresh, juiced, or blended into smoothies and desserts.

Soursop has a long tradition of medicinal use across the tropics. The fruit and leaves are naturally nutrient-dense, containing vitamin C, B1, and B2, along with minerals such as magnesium, potassium, calcium, iron, zinc, and copper. These nutrients are associated with supporting immune function, bone health, electrolyte balance, and normal metabolic activity. Soursop is valued for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory qualities and is being studied for its potential role in broader wellness support, including metabolic and cardiovascular health.

Whether grown in a warm garden or a spacious container, it makes a dramatic, productive statement for any tropical or subtropical landscape.
